Melanie Porter
Melanie A. Porter attended UCLA as an undergraduate and received a B.A. in psychology. She graduated from California Western School of Law (“CWSL”) cum laude in her health law concentration. While in law school, Ms. Porter received the Wiley W. Manuel Award for Pro Bono Legal Services through the State Bar of California in the Spring semester of 2006 and was inducted into the Pro Bono Honors Society thereafter. She received the tops grades in Business Organizations and Property II and obtained Academic Achievement Awards (equivalent to American Jurisprudence Awards) while at CWSL. Ms. Porter served as President of the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, President of the Hawaiian Law Student Association and was chair of Phi Alpha Delta and the Health Law Society. Ms. Porter was published in the Journal of Biolaw & Business in 2006 for an article she wrote on the affect of the Medicare Modernization Act prescription drug benefit on illegal drug imports in the United States. Ms. Porter became a member of the State Bar of California in 2007. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association, the San Diego County Bar Association and serves as a Board of Director of the local chapter of the Barristers Club in San Diego.
