Liat Cohen has been a practicing attorney for over twenty-five years specializing in civil matters and Employment Law. Liat’s current focus is to assist employees in obtaining or negotiating severance packages upon termination. Liat has worked with senior level executives, management employees, professionals, and entry level staff to obtain the best possible severance agreements.
Since focusing on Employment Law in 1996, Liat has handled sexual harassment, religious discrimination, and multiple wrongful termination claims from filing the initial FEHA/EEOC claim, through all stages of litigation and ultimately to bench trial, jury verdict or arbitration.
Liat has worked in house for publically traded corporations as well as private businesses. During this time, Liat was able to glean what is most important to the Employer, providing a substantial advantage for her work on behalf of employees.
Liat is a former member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and one of the veteran members of LEFTJAW, a local chapter of Plaintiff Employment Attorneys.
Liat graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in 1993.
Liat obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and International Relations from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, in Israel.
Liat is fluent in English and Hebrew.
